Install and update Atlas

Atlas for Windows is a signed Windows app package. Windows installs it with App Installer, and Atlas tells you when a signed update is ready.

Pre-release documentation: installation and update guidance for Atlas for Windows 0.1.8. Requirements and behavior can change before release. Check Downloads for installer availability and Plans and pricing for checkout availability. Downloading Atlas does not grant access.

What you need

RequirementDetails
Windows64-bit Windows 10 version 2004 (build 19041) or later. Windows 10 reached the end of Microsoft support in October 2025, so Windows 11 is recommended. Windows N and KN editions also need Microsoft's Media Feature Pack, or Atlas cannot start.
ProcessorA 64-bit Intel or AMD processor with AVX2. Most Intel Core processors from 2013 (Haswell) on, AMD Excavator-based processors from 2015 on, and all Ryzen processors have it. Many Intel Pentium, Celeron and Atom processors, older AMD FX and A-series processors, and some low-power AMD A- and E-series processors do not, so check your processor's specifications. Atlas does not check this when it starts; on a processor without AVX2 it can stop when it first needs AVX2, without an Atlas message. Atlas has not been tested on Windows on Arm.
GraphicsA graphics card with Direct3D 11 at feature level 11.0 or higher, for video capture and its live preview. Running detection models on the GPU needs a DirectX 12 card; without one, they run on the processor in automatic mode.
Microsoft Edge WebView2 RuntimeNeeded by the Script Editor and the Xbox Remote Play sign-in window. It is part of Windows 11 and most Windows 10 PCs; otherwise install it from Microsoft.
Disk spacePackage size varies by release. Allow additional space for your scripts, model weights, and downloaded updates, which Atlas keeps.
Internet connectionRequired to open Atlas and while you use it. Atlas has no offline mode.
AccountAn Atlas account with active Atlas access and a linked, verified Discord account. Installing the app does not grant a license or start a trial. See Account, Discord and activation.
Hardware for your setupA capture card together with a Cronus Zen, or a console that supports Remote Play. See Compatibility.

Memory requirements have not been measured yet; they will be published with the release. The Microsoft Visual C++ runtime is included with Atlas, so you don't need to install it separately.

To compare a PC with this list, open the PC check in Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome on that PC. It checks what a browser can see and tells you how to check the rest.

Install Atlas

  1. When the installer is available, download Atlas.appinstaller from the official Downloads page.
  2. Open the downloaded file with Windows App Installer. The app is listed as Atlas from Atlas Computer Vision; the Windows package is signed by Asgard Scripts LLC. Installing does not need administrator rights.
  3. Select Install. If Windows warns that the package is not trusted or its signature is invalid, stop and don't install it.
  4. Open Atlas from the Start menu. On Windows 11 the installer also adds a desktop shortcut.
  5. Sign in when Atlas asks. See Sign in for the first time.
Always start Atlas from its shortcut. Atlas only runs as the installed, signed app; a copy of its files in another folder does not start.

Updates

Atlas checks for signed updates when it starts and every 5 minutes while it is open. Windows does not update Atlas on its own schedule.

  • Optional update: Atlas shows Atlas Update Available. Select Yes to open Windows App Installer and install it. If you select No, Atlas does not offer that update again until a newer one is published. Optional updates reach PCs gradually, so yours may arrive a little later than someone else's.
  • Required update: Atlas shows Required Atlas Update, or starts the update before its main window opens. Protected features stay unavailable until the update is installed. When App Installer opens, finish the installation, then start Atlas again.
  • Atlas only installs updates signed for Atlas, and never an older version than the one you have.

If Atlas says Windows App Installer could not be opened, install or update App Installer from the Microsoft Store, then restart Atlas.

Find your Atlas version

Atlas does not show its version inside the app yet. Windows shows it:

  • Windows 11: open Settings › Apps › Installed apps, select the … menu next to Atlas, and choose Advanced options. The version is listed under Specifications.
  • Windows 10: open Settings › Apps › Apps & features, select Atlas, and choose Advanced options. The version is listed near the top.

Include the version when you ask for help.

Uninstall Atlas

On Windows 11, open Settings › Apps › Installed apps, select the … menu next to Atlas, and choose Uninstall. On Windows 10, open Settings › Apps › Apps & features, select Atlas, and choose Uninstall. Windows removes the app and its shortcuts. Your scripts in Documents\Atlas\Scripts are not deleted.

Uninstalling does not cancel your plan. To manage your subscription, go to your account.
